Stefan Liniger holds a Master of Science in Architecture from ETH Zürich, graduating with distinction and awarded the ETH Medal for outstanding masters theses in 2023. Before founding his own studio ZATO, he contributed to the ETH Block Research Group as a research associate, where his work bridged structural experimentation and material innovation.

Through ZATO, he develops collectible design and high-end art installations that explore the limits of material, form and light.

His realized works — including A CONCERT SPACE, PHANTASMA and SUPERFLU — exemplify a practice where architecture becomes both object and atmosphere, conceived with the sensibility of a sculptor and the precision of a designer.

Positioning itself within the international field of luxury design and spatial art, ZATO pursues projects that blur boundaries between disciplines, producing rare works intended for lasting cultural resonance.
