Phantasma (φάντασμα) — derived from the ancient Greek notion of apparition, dream-image, specter, and spirit — embodies the liminal space between materiality and transcendence.
Informed by the rigorous yet unpredictable manipulation of molten glass, these sculptural forms succumb to gravity’s inexorable pull, their amorphous contours crushed, bent, and twisted as if seeking escape from the fiery crucible.
Infused with plasma from noble gases like neon, krypton, and helium, each piece radiates from within, recalling the elusive glow of phenomena that hover at the intersection of the corporeal and the ethereal.
In the spirit of contemporary practices that probe the boundaries between control and intuitive flow, Phantasma stands as an arresting testament to the alchemy of form and formlessness.
